I’m often asked by parents this question: “how is the internet causing anxiety and stress to my child?”, and it’s a perfectly valid question because in many cases the penetration of internet has caused a lot of stress to teenagers in a developing stage, from exposing them to unrealistic body types, to cyber-bullying and other types of online harassment, to “shock-sites” where teens are redirected by malicious 301 redirects to shock websites with pictures of extreme pornography. There are many ways that the Internet has caused stress in teens and we’ll tell you how to stop it.
Social media has made teen girls to be insecure
Social media, Instagram in particular, is extremely easy to get popular on if you are an attractive model of some sorts, even if you are just starting new (Just buying followers is easy, even in countries outside the US, I just searched up Follower kaufen Instagram in German Google and got millions of results). This has exposed young teens to unrealistic expectations of what they should look like and be like, leading to overweight or chubby teenagers to feel very insecure about themselves.
Solution: Make sure your child is away of the fact that their expectations of what they should look like are warped, this can help solve their insecurities.
Cyberbullying is incredibly widespread nowadays, from video games to Facebook, bullies can reach you basically anywhere now.
Solution: Make sure your child blocks said bullies or harassers.
These are redirects that redirect to extreme sites known as “Shock-sites”, these are made for the intention of scarring people for years by exposing them to extreme pornography and they are usually given to teens by malicious links/URLs.
Solution: Install an anti-virus that can detect these websites on your childrens computer/phone.
