Assistive technology (AT) can benefit all age groups and address a whole range of functional limitations. “AT for All” offers eight hands-on, interactive workshops—from the low-tech to the state-of-the-art, from education to employment, from independent living to leisure—something for everyone!
This workshop will demonstrate dozens of the latest applications (apps) for use on mobile devices, online, and on the go, to support individuals with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities. Several apps for Apple and Android mobile devices like iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and the Motorola Droid will be demonstrated. Participants will also learn how to install and run portable apps on a USB drive for use on any computer, as well as how to access web-based apps online. Apple devices will be available for hands-on experience. This session is also offered May 13, 2011.

About the Presenters:
Dr. Therese Willkomm is currently the Director of the New Hampshire Statewide Assistive Technology Program (ATinNH) with the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire, and is Clinical Assistant Professor in the UNH Department of Occupational Therapy. In addition, Dr. Willkomm coordinates the Graduate Certificate in Assistive Technology program and the Disability Studies minor.
She has been providing and managing assistive technology services for over 28 years in the areas of home, school, and worksite modifications for persons with disabilities. She is known nationally and internationally as “The MacGyver of Assistive Technology” and for her work in rural rehabilitation. Dr. Willkomm has presented in 38 states, five foreign countries, and three U.S. territories and has authored 22 publications including “Make a Difference Today! Assistive Technology Solutions in Minutes.”
Dan Herlihy has been in the education field for over 24 years, working in wilderness programs for at-risk students, in special education classrooms, and as a private consultant providing training and professional development to school systems. He is also an Intellitools Training Specialist. He presents nationally on numerous topics including creating access on the fly, working with high and low-incidence disabilities, creating accessible test, quiz, and alternate assessment activities, and more. He has written numerous books and articles on technology integration, and has produced CDs of education activities for students. His expertise is in taking diverse technologies and connecting them together to provide solutions for access to the curriculum.
